God in the Brokenness. The Ache, The Prayer, The Answer.
A confession in poems. A theology born in the wilderness.
We don’t always sin out of defiance.
Sometimes, we sin because we’re lonely. Because the silence is heavy. Because survival taught us how to reach for comfort before we ever learned how to receive love.
Trauma & God is a poetic and deeply personal exploration of sin, shame, and the slow, sacred work of healing.
Through confessional prose and psalm-like poetry, Jonathan Valania traces the journey from temptation to restoration, from absence to abiding. This is not a book of quick answers—it’s a companion for those still in the middle. For those who’ve shaped their faith around silence. For those who wonder if God could still want anything to do with them.
These pages are for the ones who sat in churches while silently unraveling.
For the ones who reached for idols in secret.
For those haunted by patterns they never chose—and still long for grace that stays.
Here, grace is not a reward.
It’s a presence.
And it stays.
Themes Include:
Sin as survival
Spiritual absence and silence
Cycles of trauma and generational sin
Repentance, identity, and grace that stays
This book is for you if:
You’ve ever reached for comfort when what you needed was healing
You’ve felt God go quiet in the middle of your ache
You’re still trying to believe that grace is for people like you

Your Questions, Answered.
Is this book safe for someone in recovery?
These books speak honestly about trauma, emotional abuse, and healing. While they are written with care, some content may be difficult for those in early recovery. Please read gently and take breaks when needed.
Do I need to read the books in order?
No each book stands on its own and can be read individually. But many readers find the experience most powerful when read in this order:
Letters I'll Never Send is the starting point for many. It’s a raw, poetic memoir that traces the unraveling of an emotionally abusive relationship and the long, quiet road back to self. It helps readers name what happened and begin to feel less alone in their story.
Letters For Survivors is a gentle companion to follow. It’s not about the trauma it’s about what comes after. Through affirmations, reflections, and soft prose, it offers a place to land for anyone who’s still healing, still hurting, or still trying to believe their story.
Trauma & God is for those walking the spiritual aftermath. It explores the tension between sin, survival, and grace through confessional prose and psalm-like poetry. If you’ve ever wondered whether God could still want you after everything, this book sits in that silence with you and speaks.
Together, the books walk through pain, recovery, and redemption. But no matter where you begin, you’re not behind. You’re already in the middle of something sacred.
