Part V · Breath

Nothingness

i awoke to no sound, pure nothingness. & felt free. for the first time my own thoughts couldn’t find me. they searched every room, they brushed up against me, & kept going. i laid there feeling the weight of the sheets. the warmth of morning. the rise & fall of my breath. it was strange. nothing needed me. i never thought peace would sound like nothing.
