Faith & Prose occasionally publishes extraordinary writers — some discovered through The Archive, others through direct submission or invitation. This page explains how we choose, what we look for, and how to submit your manuscript.

Our editorial standard
We publish very few books each year. Every manuscript is read by a human being, discussed carefully, and chosen because we believe it belongs in the world — not because it's likely to sell the fastest or reach the widest audience.
Three paths to publication
Some of the strongest writing we've encountered wasn't submitted at all. It appeared quietly in The Archive — an anonymous reflection, a poem, a letter — and stayed with us long after we'd finished reading. When something moves us, we reach out.
Start writing in The ArchiveIf you have a manuscript, a chapbook, or a body of work you're ready to share, you can submit it from your account. You'll send a synopsis, a sample, and a link to the full manuscript.

What isn't a fit
The process
Share your work through your account. Draft, save, and return — nothing is sent until you're ready.
Every submission is read by a human editor. We read carefully and respond as quickly as we're able.
You'll receive one of three answers: a pass with a kind note, a request for revisions, or an offer to keep talking.
If we move forward, we work with you on editing, design, and release. Ten percent of every sale goes to survivors of domestic violence.
What happens if we say no?
Most manuscripts we receive won't be the right fit for our list. A pass is not a judgment on your work or your voice. Building a publishing list requires finding books that belong together. We hope you'll keep writing.
If we can offer something useful, we will. If we can't, we will still read carefully — and we'll be grateful you trusted us with your work.
Rights & royalties
Your writing belongs to you. When we publish a book together, we sign a plain-English agreement — no perpetual grabs, no work-for-hire, no fine print designed to trip you up. You retain your copyright.
We share royalties fairly and pay on a regular schedule. Ten percent of every sale, on every title we publish, goes to organizations supporting survivors of domestic violence. That's built into the imprint — not a marketing line.
If any of this changes in the future, it will change on this page first.
