Part I · Wonder

Time

the stages of life. I. Future what is tomorrow? or the next day & the next. everything bleeds & bends— so much i can’t feel my feet. face. hands. monday becomes tuesday, becomes today. & today is already gone. just circling back to tomorrow. II. Past leave the past in the past but why would i? it predicts the future so well. patterns rarely ask for permission. they always remember their way home. the past tells the future in reverse. III. Present where the garden grew too long, weevil lay still, holding out his hand and said: “sit in this second with me, ladybug. one. two. & three. this second will never happen again. so sit here, with me. & breathe.”
