Letters for Survivors

To the One Who Finally Saw It

There came a day when the excuses stopped working. When your heart stopped softening the blow. When your eyes stayed open long enough to call it what it was. Not complicated. Not just a phase. Not your fault. Just harm. And once you saw it, really saw it, there was no unseeing. That was the day everything began to change. You opened your eyes and the world stayed standing still. Only you had moved. "The truth didn't ruin you, it rescued you."
