Trauma & God
At The Very Bottom
I did not find You
in stained glass or sunlight.
I found You in the undertow.
When prayer curled inward.
When silence bruised.
When I forgot how to speak.
You weren't waiting.
You were already weeping
beside me.
I was sharp edges,
half wanting rescue,
half wanting to vanish.
But You stayed.
Not with answers—
with presence.
Some find You in the song.
I found You in the split.
In the gasp between
I can't
and please.
You didn't lift me.
You let me sink
until surface
no longer mattered.
And when all I had left
was ache—
You called it enough.
That's where I found You.
At the bottom.
Where even light
let go.
